Understanding Your Lens Options
Cataract surgery is one of the most common and successful procedures performed today. The lens you choose will shape your vision for years to come.
What is Cataract Surgery?
A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens inside your eye that develops with age. During cataract surgery, your surgeon removes the cloudy lens and replaces it with a clear artificial lens called an intraocular lens (IOL).
The procedure typically takes less than 30 minutes and is performed as an outpatient procedure. Most patients notice improved vision within a few days.
“Cataract surgery is one of the most successful interventions in modern medicine.”
